Due to weather cancellation on March 14, 2017, the seminar by Anne Brunet has been rescheduled for 2018. It will be held on April 24, 2018.
This Joint Seminar is presented in collaboration with the Department of Genetics & Development. It is also part of our ongoing "BIOLOGIES? OF AGING" series in which our lecturers explore various biological "hallmarks" of aging, employing a variety of models from budding yeast (Saccharomyces cerevisiae) to fruit flies (Drosophila melanogaster) and worms (Caenorhabditis elegans) to vertebrates. Topics have included genetics, epigenetics, stem cells, protein homeostasis and autophagy, metabolic regulation, mitochondria, and endocrine regulation.
Join us on Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at 4 p.m. to hear from Anne Brunet, the Michele and Timothy Barakett Endowed Professor of Genetics, Stanford University. Dr. Brunet’s talk is entitled “Understanding and Modeling Aging.” The location is Columbia University Medical Center’s Hammer Building, HHSC-Room 301, 701 West 168th Street at Fort Washington Avenue.
