Associate Research Scientist, Columbia Aging Center

Dr. Golareh Agha received her PhD in Epidemiology from Brown University School of Public Health. She is primarily an Obesity and Cardiovascular research scientist, focused on identifying risk factors, molecular biomarkers, and predictors of aging and chronic disease. Her active areas of research include: 1) Epigenetic biomarkers of obesity and incident coronary heart disease, 2) Integration of genetic, epigenetic, and gene expression in studies of aging-related disease, and 3) Socio-cultural, behavioral, and biological trajectories of risk in cognitive aging. Dr. Agha is currently working with Ursula M. Staudinger on an inter-disciplinary initiative to identify longitudinal patterns of interaction between biology, behavior, and context as a basis for a precision approach to cognitive aging..
