Apply! Age Boom Academy 2018 "Future of Work: New Tech & an Aging Workforce"

Thursday, March 1, 2018

From May 31 to June 2, 2018, the Columbia Aging Center will once again present its signature program for journalists, the Age Boom Academy.  The topic is The Future of Work: New Technology and an Aging Workforce.

Co-organized with the Columbia School of Journalism, this year's Age Boom Academy will once again convene journalist fellows together with researchers for an intensive two-and-a-half day workshop to learn how new technologies have the potential to transform the future of work for older employees.  The Age Boom Academy's goal is to effectively translate science into accessible reporting on the complex issues around tech and work for an aging workforce. During the Academy, journalist Fellows learn by interviewing assembled scientists and experts and by participating in story clinics led by researchers and senior journalists. Simultaneously, researchers learn how to communicate more effectively with journalists.

See the “Reporting” section of our Ageboom site for recent articles written by past Fellows.

We invite all journalists who are interested to apply at this link.
