Presenting Age Boom Academy 2018 "Future of Work: New Tech & an Aging Workforce"

Thursday, May 31, 2018 to Saturday, June 2, 2018

From May 31 to June 2, 2018, the Columbia Aging Center will once again present its signature program for journalists, the Age Boom Academy.  The topic is The Future of Work: New Technology and an Aging Workforce.

Co-organized with the Columbia School of Journalism, this year's Age Boom Academy will convene journalist fellows and researchers for an intensive two-and-a-half day workshop to explore how new technologies have the potential to transform the future of work for older employees. The Age Boom Academy's goal is to effectively translate science into accessible reporting on the complex issues around tech and work for an aging workforce. During the Academy, journalist Fellows learn by interviewing assembled scientists and experts and by participating in story clinics led by researchers and senior journalists. Simultaneously, researchers learn how to communicate more effectively with journalists.

See the “Reporting” section of our Age Boom Academy website for recent articles written by past Fellows.
