Research interests: Health span creation; prevention of frailty, chronic disease, loneliness and disability; enabling the social capital of aging society to create solutions for society and creating new social infrastructure and a Third Demographic Dividend through successfully aging societies.
o    Affiliations: Core member, Aging Society Network; Co-Chair, National Academy of Medicine Commission to Create a Global Roadmap for Healthy Longevity; Member, NYC Age-Friendly City Commission.

 

Daniel BelskyDaniel Belsky, PhD, Assistant Professor of Epidemiology, Co-Lead, Biological Aging and Health Inequalities, Director of MPH Aging Certificate and Longevity Scholars Program
Research interests: Translating aging biology to inform public health strategies for aging populations, including quantification of biological aging for randomized trials of geroprotective interventions and population surveillance; genetic and environmental risk factors for accelerated aging; how social determinants of health impact biological aging.

 Research interests:  How well are countries, and States, adapting to the demographic transformation, with special attention to several major domains: productivity and engagement; equity; wellbeing; security and cohesion between generations. Trends in health status of older populations over time.

Research interests:  Global health and aging, with a particular focus on low and middle income countries in South Asia, China and Africa.  Implications of cultural, social and economic aspects of longevity and effects on aging, health and disease in aging, and health systems; theory and political economy of aging; intergenerationality.
