Dr. Granieri is interested in medical and geriatrics education, program development, advocacy and interdisciplinary care of older adults. She teaches locally, regionally, nationally and internationally, and has developed curricula for geriatrics fellowships internationally. Dr. Granieri has designed and implemented palliative medicine curricula and interdisciplinary training within the Veterans Administration system and in multiple other academic institutions. 

Since arriving at Columbia, Dr.Granieri has developed the Division of Geriatric Medicine and its rigorous curriculum, that has been the source of education and training for medical housestaff and other health care professionals at Columbia and New York Presbyterian. She is currently working to help establish curricular initiatives in geriatrics for the College of Physicians and Surgeons and an medical education track within the medicine residency. 

She holds leadership positions within the AAMC, the American Geriatrics Society and is a member of the NBMA Advisory Committee for Medical School Programs. She was also a Deputy Vice-Chair for Education.
