Caitlin builds interdisciplinary partnerships and identifies research synergies among campus faculty, visiting international and U.S. scholars, and trainees.

Caitlin served on the board of directors of Bloomingdale Aging in Place (BAiP) from 2011-2016 . An all-volunteer, intergenerational network of neighbors based on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, BAiP is dedicated to helping older adults lead vital, connected, safe and comfortable lives as their needs change.  Until 2021, she oversaw 1200 activity points each year as co-chairman of BAiP's activities sector, serving 1400 older adults.  BAiP was awarded the 2016 Joan H. Tisch Community Health Prize. 

Prior to joining the Center, Caitlin was the Executive Director of the Pasteur Foundation, the U.S. representative office of the Institut Pasteur, based in Paris.  She established the Pasteur Foundation Award, which honors distinguished industry leaders, Nobel Laureates and policymakers for their furtherance of public health.  Under her leadership, the Foundation's scope grew to encompass a range of scientific training and bilateral exchange programs with France and the United States, as well as a global cooperative agreement between the Department for Health and Human Services and the International Network of the Institut Pasteur. Caitlin  also served as an advisor to the Jonas Salk Legacy Foundation, and spearheaded the organization of events marking the centenary of Jonas Salk throughout 2014 and 2015.

She graduated cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania with a dual degree in Anthropology and French.

The French Government named her Chevalier in the National Order of Merit in 2005 and Chevalier in the National Order of the Legion of Honor in 2012.  In 2015, she received the Reid Hall Golden Jubilee Medal from Columbia University's Global Center | Europe.  She is the recipient of the 2019 Columbia Mailman School of Public Health Staff Excellence Award. And in her community she was recognized with the 2021 Jim Tourain Award of the Bloomingdale Neighborhood History Group.
