Reem Waziry

Dr. Reem Waziry, Postdoctoral Research Scientist

On February 1, 2021, Columbia Aging Center postdoctoral researcher, Reem Waziry, MBBCh, MPH, PhD, received an internal pilot award from the Gertrude H. Sergievsky Center for her project “Biological Aging and Cognitive Resilience among Ischemic Stroke Survivors”. Dr. Waziry joined the aging center in 2020 to work with faculty member Daniel W. Belsky, PhD, co-lead of the center's Biological Aging program. Dr. Waziry's work is focused at the intersection of biological aging and specific age-related cerebrovascular disorders, where she employs clinical, epidemiological and administrative data-sources. In the present project, together with her faculty advisors, she will examine the relationship between biological aging at the physiological level using a body-systems approach and cognitive health after acute ischemic stroke.
The Columbia Aging Center is grateful for this intramural support from the Sergievsky Center.
