MSPH Student Group and Bloomingdale Aging in Place organized an intergenerational community conversation about climate change

Please visit this page for a recap by MSPH student Evan Eschliman of the joint event organized by Perspectives on Aging and Bloomingdale Aging in Place on November 11, 2018. The evening "Climate Change: Reading and Reflecting Together" was an intergenerational conversation about the historic New York Times Magazine article "Losing Earth" by Nathaniel Rich, which was published in August. Students from across Mailman came together in Upper West Side living rooms to meet older adults and discuss the decade covered by Rich's piece where there was a moment in time when the U.S. was poised to do something to combat climate change. Within the discussion groups, participants found support among one another for actions each could take within their homes and communities to affect change in policies and practice.
